Eligibility:
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who meets the academic requirements for enrolment for the PhD degree at Imperial College London. He/she will have a background in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or a related field and an enquiring and rigorous approach to research together with a strong intellect and disciplined work habits.

Scholarship for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for a research studentship in the field of Tribology, leading to the award of a PhD degree. The post is supported by a bursary and fees (at the UK/EU student rate) provided by Robert BOSCH GmbH Electrical Drives. The studentship is for three years from October 2011.

Eligibility: To be considered for the Chevron MSc Subsea Engineering Scholarship you will need to have applied to the University of Aberdeen for a place on the MSc in Subsea Engineering degree course starting in September 2011.
-To be awarded the scholarship you must receive and then firmly accept an unconditional offer of a place on the MSc in Subsea Engineering at the University of Aberdeen.
-Only applicants domiciled in the UK and classified as paying Home Fees OR applicants normally domiciled in the UK but temporarily living outside the UK and classified as paying Home Fees OR citizens of the European Union domiciled in the European Union are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship for International Students: Yes( EU,UK)

Scholarship Description: Chevron North Sea Ltd. is offering one MSc Subsea Engineering Scholarship. The scholarship is open to UK/EU students wishing to commence the full-time MSc in Subsea Engineering in September 2011. The scholarship is valued at £16,500 for the one year duration of the MSc in Subsea Engineering degree course. This will cover UK/EU postgraduate tuition fees, with the remainder providing a maintenance stipend. In addition, The Chevron Scholarship will offer mentoring.

PhD Program is open to applicants holding the equivalent of a German 'Diplom'or a Master's degree (with written thesis) in physics, geophysical sciences (incl. meteorology and oceanography), chemistry, ecology, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or political science. Also students currently still working on their MSc thesis are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Description: The International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling (IMPRS-ESM), located in Hamburg, Germany, offers fellowships to outstanding students interested in Earth system research. Doctoral students of the IMPRS-ESM contribute to the development, application, and evaluation of a spectrum of Earth system models at different temporal and spatial scales, including the interactions between the natural and the human systems.

Scholarship Description: The Evans Fund, given in the fiftieth year of the Nelson Science Scholarship, is provided by income from a gift received in 1978 from Miss C B (Winsome) Evans and Miss F M (Margaret) Evans in memory of their father, the late Dr W P Evans, a distinguished early graduate of Canterbury College and Head of the Department of Chemistry and Physics at the College from 1903-1906 and Head of the Department of Chemistry 1907-1922.
